Our Commitment to YOU

Power comes from within, from being who you are and fully expressing your true self. It’s about letting go of everything that does not serve you so that you can be present and live a deliberate, meaningful life. The Green Yogi was conceived to bring this life changing practice to our communities in the South Bay of Los Angeles and the Bay Area of San Francisco, to benefit your life and the lives of everyone you touch. We embrace the idea “we are all one” and seek to lift one another up. We know of no better way to do that than through the regular practice of power vinyasa yoga.

We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your personal journey. We are committed to serving you on your path to happiness and welcome you to our yoga family!

The Green Yogi Manhattan Beach Team

Chelsea is the proud owner of The Green Yogi! Chelsea is Ayurvedically a pitta/pitta (fire/fire dosha). Her whole life Chelsea has been passionate about movement and the body-mind connection. Chelsea’s main desire is to live a balanced life that facilitates life long health and to continue a lifestyle that honors and gives back to Mother Earth. She is especially proud that her decade long yoga practice and almost 8 years of teaching have been injury free despite her training as a power vinyasa practitioner and teacher.
Chelsea trained with Ellen de Jonge under Yoga By The Way in Mexico in 2010. She went on to teach at The Four Seasons in Miami, FL and most recently curated the yoga program at the multi national rock climbing phenomenon Brooklyn Boulders as Fitness Director. The Green Yogi is Chelsea’s second business. In 2010 she created the revolutionary eco- high performance aquatic sports apparel company Swish Suits.

Chelsea is most well known for her deconstruction of arm balances/inversions and her funky flows. While she believes that peak poses are not necessary for one to be a yogi, she feels they can nonetheless be important tools for self discovery. Chelsea’s classes focus on the safe and challenging execution of a wide variety of the 13, 000 different asanas that make up what we call modern yoga. Chelsea humbly hopes to impart the knowledge learned through her decade of yogic experience and to teach within this magical community.

Anne is sort of a cheater. She’s a gymnast, and all of us “regular people” envy her ability to handstand on a balance beam… while talking on the phone… and walking her dogs… in the dark. Thankfully, she’s agreed to teach us a thing or two about it.

Anne has been enjoying the powerful benefits of practicing yoga since 2004. Growing up as a competitive gymnast, yoga came naturally to her. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in Fine Arts, Anne moved to Vail, skiing in the winter months and competing in triathlons in the summer months. Integrating yoga into her active lifestyle she felt more balance then ever before. It wasn’t until she moved to California that Anne decided to share her passion through teaching.

Trained under Julie Rader, Anne’s instruction is based on the Vinyasa Flow technique that creates a union between breath, movement, and strength building with a playful edge. Encouraging her students to find peace and acceptance in their minds and body. Come with an open mind and an open heart.

Sesa O'Connor

Sesa O’Connor

Green Guide

www.sesayoga.com

Where did Sesa’s yoga journey begin? The best answer may be…in another life. Sesa was born and raised in a family that lives and breathes true yoga, so she grew up learning and practicing mantra meditation and yoga as a lifestyle. Having grown up living around yoga her whole life, she decided to pursue an AA degree in International Business. But as the busyness of life began to come to the forefront, her yogic upbringing became less of a focus…

After graduating with honors, Sesa soon found herself unexpectedly pregnant…during this hiatus from the things that had primarily taken up her time and energy – college, full time work, travel and surfing – Sesa realized how important yoga was to her and her spiritual progression. Inspired to be instrumental in helping others experience the benefits of yoga, Sesa received her 200-RYT certification through Tamal Yoga School in 2009, and has been sharing her love of yoga ever since, primarily leading classes, workshops and serving as a master instructor for Tamal Yoga School teacher trainings in Orange County. Sesa likes to use her classes as a way to give people the physical challenge and mental de-stressing tool they’re looking for. But more importantly, a gateway to open people up to what yoga is really about. Yoga isn’t something you practice once, twice, or even seven times a week, that no matter how “advanced” your physical practice is or isn’t…yoga is a lifestyle, that it’s how you live your life off the mat that really matters. Her hope is that her passion and love for yoga will inspire others and that she can share the amazing life changing powers of yoga that have molded her into the – daughter, sister, mother, lover, and friend – she is today, with everyone.

JJ is now a 500 hour certified yoga teacher. He trained under yoga greats Tamal Dodge and Kristin Cooper. Courtney Satow

www.NutriZenLifestyle.com

Courtney Satow is a Southern California native who grew up in Redondo Beach and excelled in several different sports. Soccer quickly became a favorite at an early age and ended up taking Courtney all the way to the collegiate level playing center midfielder at CSU Monterey Bay. Courtney received her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Wellness and immediately went on to receive a holistic nutrition certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In 2009 Courtney started working as a nutrition consultant at a physical therapy clinic along with starting her own business. After years of coaching clients to better health and happiness, Courtney realized one of the biggest common complaints between everyone she worked with was stress. Having referred several of her clients to take up yoga, she realized this was an area to consider investigating as a business add-on. What started as a means of better supporting her clients ended up a life changing passion that Courtney could not be more grateful for. Courtney is now an E-RYT200 yoga teacher through yoga alliance, has an additional 50 hours in advanced asana training, and has completed the 100-hour pre/postnatal training with Chelsea Rothert through the Mukti Yoga School at the Green Yogi.

The most important thing Courtney has taken away from all of her trainings and years of practicing is that yoga is done on the mat to help one learn and grow through asana, movement, breath, and meditation to ultimately benefit ones life off the mat. As a natural competitor and former endurance athlete, yoga was almost the complete opposite practice of everything Courtney had learned her whole life. It’s safe to say that yoga has humbled Courtney, put her ego in check, and helped shape her to be the person she is today. Her classes are playful yet thought provoking and always taught with an attention to detail.

When Courtney isn’t working, she enjoys taking classes as a student of yoga, playing with her dogs, spending time with her loved ones, and giving back through her work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and local animal rescues. When you get to know “Court” well you’ll realize she is a huge goofball and is commonly known as “Top 40 Courtney” as she knows every word of every song played on KIIS FM.

Brittany Lynne Rouse

Brittany Lynne Rouse

Green Girl + Green Guide

Brittany began her career in training as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and nutrition coach in 2003. After temporarily leaving the fitness world to focus on her fine art photography series, NOIR, and to produce a Kickstarter funded feature-length film, Brittany returned to training as a yoga instructor in early 2013. She received her 200-RYT with Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. Although her passion for film and photography is still alive and well in her life, yoga and meditation are the key components to keeping Brittany centered. She loves helping others and sharing the gift of physical and emotional wellness on a daily basis.

Brittany believes that a balanced lifestyle combines exercise, healthy eating habits, and an optimistic outlook on life. Yoga and meditation are an amazing vehicle in which to facilitate mind-body wellness and calm the stressors that society, work and even we place on ourselves. Moderation is so important to Brittany – she believes that integrating yoga and meditation into a fitness and nutrition routine helps to create a holistic foundation for a happy and healthy life. Since starting a regular yoga practice, Brittany has found it easier to stay present, laugh (a lot!) and enjoy beauty in the world around her.
